We live in incredibly challenging times due to wars, pandemics, climate change, gun violence, religious bigotry, racism/classism/sexism/ableism/ageism and any other-ism you can imagine. How do we begin to navigate a world fraught with such unprecedented events, culminating with so much tragedy that deeply impacts our personal and professional lives? How do we begin to reframe our perspective in response to today's personal and global challenges? How do we cultivate some sense of safety and restore trust due to broken relationships and deeply, complex traumatic experiences after betrayal and loss in our personal lives? How do we cope with intense grief on a global and personal level?
Given the current times we are living in, it seems increasingly relevant to connect to our souls. A soul, as defined in many religions, is one's spiritual, immaterial, and immortal self. Perhaps this means nurturing our creative interests, such as drawing, painting, dancing, listening to or playing music, writing, or journaling. Maybe this involves connecting to God, a higher power, or the universe, through prayer, social connection with friends or community, engaging in solitary self-reflection, or spending time in nature. This might also be fulfilling your purpose or a calling.
Through Soulful Healing Therapy, it is one of my hopes to help individuals repair the tethered connections to the soul, a consequence of living in these challenging times. I spent many years navigating the challenges of personal, professional, and academic experiences that led to this creation of Soulful Healing Therapy. I offer an eclectic blend of therapeutic approaches for ADHD, PTSD, trauma, grief, substance use, depression, and anxiety, using cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, harm-reduction and moderation management, mindfulness meditation, ecotherapy, somatic therapy, attachment theory, and creative expression.
